Iron deficiency can caused by a lot of reasons. Women of child bearing age are usually the more at risk of developing iron deficiency anemia. Other factors may include poor diet and children who are in a rapid rate growth.
In order to prevent developing iron deficiency anemia, you need to take an iron supplement. Ferro Gradumet Tablet provides a sustained release iron supplement that may assist in preventing or treating iron deficiency.
How can using Ferro Gradumet Tablet Help me?
When you take this product, it may Help prevent and and treat iron deficiency anemia. It is a sustained release formulation. The way the sustained release formulation works for this product is that the tablet wax based. As the tablet passes through the intestine the iron leaches out, which means it is possible to pass "ghost tablets" when passing stools. "Ghost tablets" look like the original tablet but have no therapeutic levels of iron left in them.
What are in this product?
Dried Ferrous Sulphate 325mg (equiv 105mg elemental iron).
Contains Lactose. Sucrose and gluten free.
What is the recommended dosage?
Adults may take 1 tablet daily with or without food, or you may also follow your doctor's prescriptions.
The tablet should be swallowed whole, to gain full benefit of the sustained release formulation.
Are there any warnings and precautions?
Store in a cool dry place.
Keep it away from the sight and reach of young children.
Discontinue use if you experience any irritation.
Vitamins are only meant to assist proper nutritional intake. It is never intended to replace natural sources from regular diet.
Side effects:These tablets are normally well tolerated. The commonest side effect in practice is constipation, and unabsorbed iron can cause the stools to turn black. Iron absorption is improved dramatically in the presence of Vitamin C, so we normally recommend taking your iron tablet with one or two kiwi fruit which will increase the iron absorbed and prevent constipation.
